Brothers and sisters, the Risen Christ does not abolish the wounds of His Passion — He keeps them, glorified, as the marks of love that endured to the end. On this Fourth Sunday of Easter, the Good Shepherd Sunday, the Gospel hands us a quiet, demanding image: a shepherd who knows His sheep by name, who walks ahead of them, who lays down His life so that they might live.
To follow this Shepherd is not to follow a stranger. It is to recognise a voice we have heard before, in the depths of conscience and in the silence of prayer — a voice that calls us by name and asks us, again and again, to come home. Easter is His invitation to walk that path with Him, in the company of His Church, until the rumours of resurrection become our own life.
